I have tasted meatloaf with oatmeal in it and it was also scrumptious!
I use the Italian bread crumbs because I make my own. Sometimes when there is leftover old, stale Italian bread, I just grind it up real good in the processor, season it with parsley, oregano, basil, garlic salt and parmesan cheese. Then I store it in zip-lock bags in the freezer.
A wonderful neighbor up in the Panhandle showed me how to do it when she saw me almost throw away the old bread. She stopped me and taught me a very thrifty lesson, not to mention a delicious one.
