Gladys, here is the recipe you requested. I make mine in a pyrex (glass) dish that is 13x9 or 12 x 7 inches.
SEVEN LAYER LETTUCE SALAD
Head lettuce 1/4 cup parmesan cheese 1 cup celery, sliced 1 pkg frozen peas (10 oz) 1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained 1/4 cup chopped onion 1 pint mayo 3 hard cooked eggs, chopped bacon pieces shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Place each layer in dish starting with lettuce. Spreading the mayo is a bit tricky but using a butter knife makes it a little easier to spread.
