First WELCOME HOME!!!! You were greatly missed my friend, ....now for the artichokes....sorry I just assume that everyone knows what to do with them.....

Remove a few of the tougher bottom leaves and using a knife cut the stem off to make a flat bottom so the artichoke will stand firmly in the pot. I use kitchen scissors to snip off the end of each leaf to remove the thorns, about 1/4 inch only.

Remember when reading the recipe, the artichokes will simmer in the chicken broth for 1-2 hours!!! Adding more broth as necessary. I tried to make them once when I was in Guatemala. They were the small ones and they did not turn out well. I hope you will try these!! I e-mailed you today...hope you got it! Again, welcome home dear friend!
