Hi Everyone,
I absolutely love this website, I spend hours just reading all your terrific posts. I decided to join in if you all dont mind :)
Tonight I will be making a verry yummy salad. It consists of Romaine lettuce, Blue Cheese, Walnuts, Michigan Dried Cherries with a Balsamic dressing. I am also making my favorite Brisket with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans.
Roast Bristket
6-7lb pound beef brisket salt & pepper 1 large onion, sliced 1/4 cup chili sauce (I use Bennets) 1 T brown sugar 1-2 cloves of garlic, crushed 1 12oz can of flat beer, opened and allowed to go flat 2T flour 1/2 Cup water
Preheat over to 350F
Trim fat from brisket. season with salt and pepper. Place im a 9X12 inch casserole. Cover with sliced onions. Combine chili sauce, brown sugar, garlic and beer and pour over meat. Cover with foil and bake 4 hours. Cool, degrease and slice meat across grain. Blend flour and water and add to drippings. Cook until thickened. Pour gravy over meat.
Makes enough to serve 12, but it freezes beautifully. Hope you all enjoy!
Happy Friday!
