Hello everyone! This marinade recipe is taken from Consuming Passions by Michael Lee West, she's a favorite author of mine and writes light humerous books, peppered here and there with recipes. This marinade is fantastic. Depending on how many steaks I have I usually reserve some marinade, bring it to a simmer and serve it on the side as a dipping sauce. Everyone loves it.
Dell's Marinade
1/2 cup red wine vinegar 1/2 cup brown sugar 3 tablespoons ketchup 3 tablespoons Worcestershire 1 tablespoon prepared mustard 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
Whisk all ingredients and pour over steaks. Marinate in the refrigerator overnight. Grill or broil to your liking. Delicious!
I usually serve this with cheddar mashed potatoes and green beens cooked in chicken broth with a sliced shallot and cracked pepper. If you opt to have some marinade for sauce for your steaks, it tastes great with the potatoes too!
