when Luis and I were grocery shopping the other day, we saw something in the frozen food section that made us laugh! There was a frozen solid big block of grated yucca (cassava). It was so odd to see that, we recalled the vendors who went right past our house in San Pedro, and we always bought some, grated it, mixed it with an egg and deep fried the fritters. Delicious! Nothing else like it! Seems like another lifetime ago!
