2 medium onions, chopped 1 small head of cabbage, shredded 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes 1 (16 oz) can tomato sauce 6 cups vegetable or chicken broth 1 cup ketchup 1/4 cup lemon juice 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper
In a large soup pot, combine onions, cabbage, tomatoes, tomato sauce and broth.
Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cover and cook until cabbage turns soft, 25 - 30 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients. Reduce heat to medium low, cover and simmer 20 to 30 minutes.
