My husband is having to go on a business trip and is leaving tomorrow. Leaving on Father's Day is bad enough, but tomorrow is also his birthday! We had a "pre-birthday" celebration today and I cooked some of his favorite dishes.
We will have the "real celebrations" whenever he comes back home in two weeks. Kristin will be better and he can have two entire days to "live like a king!"
Today for lunch we had: Bubbette Burgers with all of the "fixings," french fries, microwave corn on the cob, cold watermelon chunks, CLAUSSEN Pickles, sweet tea with lemon, and leftover peach pie.
BUBBETTE BURGERS
1 lb. ground chuck 1 envelope Lipton Onion Soup Mix 1 T. minced garlic 3 T. Heniz 57 Sauce 2 T. water
Combine the ground chuck with the seasonings. Shape into four burgers. Grill on a countertop grill or place in the oven and broil. Drain on paper towels when the burgers are done. Serve on hamburger buns.
Serve with:
lettuce tomatoes Vidalia onions CLAUSSEN Pickles mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, and additional Heniz 57 Sauce
MICROWAVE CORN ON THE COB
3 ears of shucked corn with silk removed
Wash the corn. Put three pieces of corn on a dampened paper towel--I use Bounty. Place on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave on HIGH for 5 minutes. CAREFULLY remove the plate and unwrap the paper towel from the corn. Serve hot with butter, salt, and pepper.
Happy Cooking!
