I so enjoyed reading your memories of your childhood foods....seems everyone has some humorous story to go along with it.
No, I didn't grow up with what you are talking about, but that soda sure sounds yummy with the strawberry syrup. I grew up on Chocolate Egg Creams, they are made with U-bet Chocolate Syrup, a little bit of cold milk and lots of seltzer stirred real quick so you get a marvelous foamy head. You drank it quick too, it didn't have any cream or eggs but it sure tasted rich. I still adore them today and get them at a local ice-cream shop in town.
