Having survived the holidays, I wanted to again thank Patty from North Ga Mountains, who on December 11, 1998!!! yes, 1998 - shared this recipe. Patty responded to a request from Dan McGee and I printed out her response. I make these mushrooms for every Christmas party we attend and people now say, "please bring THE mushrooms!" They are so easy, always a hit and I just wanted to say thanks again and post the recipe again.
Stuffed Mushrooms
8 oz fresh mushrooms 3 Tbsp grated parmesan cheese [I've used shredded too] 1 (3 oz) pkg of cream cheese - room temp 1/8 tsp garlic powder
Clean mushrooms, remove stem. Drain to remove any excess water. Mix cheeses and garlic powder, till smooth. Spoon into each mushroom, slightly rounding tops. Place in ovenproof dish Bake 20 minutes or until warm Serves 6 [I add a little salt and have topped them w/ Old Bay. I've also baked them at a higher temp and it works out well. These are such a hit every time! Thanks!]
