My husband and I attended a wedding last night where they used the cupcake wedding cake idea. It was a HUGE success. They had 3 different flavors...yellow cake with chocolate filling, chocolate cake with raspberry filling, and white cake with lemon filling....with a different color flower made of frosting on top of each cupcake signifying the flavor. There was a sign on the table explaining the flower color connected to the flavor. Everyone loved the idea and the distribution was so efficient. No waiting in line while someone cut and served a cake. I didn't think that it was quite as impressive as a wedding cake but that is just my personal opinion. When the reception was over there were only a few cupcakes left, in sharp contrast to the amount of wedding cake left over at many weddings I've attended. My only warning would be that many people took more than one cupcake since they wanted to try more than one flavor, so be prepared if you decide to try this at your wedding. Nancy
