Hello June: This recipe is over 100 years old and comes to me through my grandma's Ruralite Cookbook, enjoy: 1 C butter 1 C granulated sugar 2 eggs, beaten, room temperature 5 C flour, sifted 3 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp cinammon 2 tsp. ginger 1 tsp cloves 1 tsp salt 2 C Brer Rabbit Molasses 2 C hot water Cream butter and sugar. Add the beaten eggs. Measure and sift dry ingredients. Mix molasses with hot water. Add dry ingredients alternately with the liquid, a little at a time; beat after each addition. Bake in a pacgiined pan in moderate oven 350 degrees for 1 hour or until center is done. 30 servings
