CODIDO or POCHERO

1 dumalaga (young chicken), cut into serving pieces
1/2 kilo beef, cubed
1/2 kilo pork, cubed
i piece tocino (smoked pork fat)
1/4 kilo Chinese ham
1 or 2 pieces chorizos de Bilbao
2 medium onions
4 ripe saba bananas, peeled
4 potatoes, pared
3 camote (yellow sweet potato), pared
1 cup garbanzos (chick peas), half cooked
1 cup habichuelas (white beans), half cooked
1 small head cabbage, quartered
1 bundle fresh string beans
2 bundles pechay, trimmed
2 small carrots, pared and quartered
Salt to taste

Boil chicken, beef, pork, tocino, ham and chorizo in just
enough water until tender. Add onions, bananas, potatoes,
camote, garbanzos, and habichuelas. Simmer for about five
minutes. When almost cooked, add the rest of the
vegetables. Simmer for about two minutes. Salt to taste.
