When I was a little girl every single 4th of July we would go to the park
and watch fireworks where they also had an ice cream constest. My Uncle Jim
won 1st Prize for his creamy vanilla ice cream four years in a row. Hope
you enjoy it as much as we did. Infact, I still have my original recipe
on a old yellowed piece of paper (Just can't seem to give it up).

UNCLE JIM'S 1st PRIZE VANILLA ICE CREAM

1 quart of milk
1 cup of light corn syrup
5 eggs
2 cups of sugar
1 quart of whipping cream
1 Tablespoon of pure vanilla extract

1 cup of cocoa (if you want chocolate)

In a 2 quart saucepan combine 2 cups of milk, the corn syrup, and
the cocoa (if using). Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring
constantly. Cool. In a large bowl beat eggs until foamy. Gradually
beat in sugar. Stir in 2 cups of milk, the whipping cream, vanilla and the
corn syrup/milk mixture (with the cocoa if you added it). Chill and churn.

Enjoy and remember the good old days.

Debbie
