I just got a real good recipe from someone else on one of these BB's. Tried it and it was delicious...everyone else really liked it too.

Custard-Style Bread Pudding

1 1/2 cups water
3/4 cup powdered milk, dry
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 pound day old bread*, torn to small pieces

Blend water and milk together. Add eggs, salt, vanilla, sugar, raisins, and butter. Mix in bread until moist, do not overmix. Bake at 350F in a well buttered 8x8x2 (or close) baking pan until lightly browned (about 45-50 min.)

SAUCE:
1/4 cup sugar
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/3 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup powdered milk, dry
1 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
2 drops yellow food coloring

With wooden spoon mix sugar, cornstarch, salt and milk powder. Blend in enough water to make mixture smooth. Add vanilla, color and rest of the water. Cook over medium heat till thick. Drizzle over just-warm pudding; cut through with a knife.

*Liquid needs to be soaked up entirely with bread. Amount of bread may vary with what kind you use.
