In top of double boiler melt 4 sw. Unsweetened Bakers Chocolate and 1/2 lb BUTTER. Alternately add 4 C confectioner's sugar and 1 12 oz can EVAPORATED milk. Beat with electric mixer and let it cook for about 30 minutes till thick. Keeep a watch on the water in the bottom pan as it boils out fast. Yield 1 quare. Delicious. I have had this recipe since 1959. It ccame from the Haffenreffer Brewery in Boston.I hope that someone out there has a sweet tooth. Iam looking for a recipe for Pumpernickel rye bread.
