I created a salad that was a big hit at a pitch-in dinner. It was the first night of spring and I wanted something "appropriate." Since it makes a pretty big salad and there wasn't enough left to bring any home, I consider it a success. You might want to adjust it some, but for a first try, it's pretty good:

Raspberry Green Bean Salad

2-3 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
4-5 large scallions, sliced thin
1 pkg sliced almonds
1 half-pint fresh raspberries

dressing:
2/3 cup raspberry vinegar
1/3 cup olive oil
finely grated peel of one orange
1 tbsp honey

Steam beans in batches until tender but still crisp. While still warm,
arrange in baking dish (or whatever), add scallions and about half of the
dressing. Cover and let sit on the counter until cool. Refrigerate
overnight.
Before serving, toss with almonds and arrange berries on top.
Enjoy!
