Here's a recipe for stew that is foolproof.
BEEF STEW
Round steak, cut in bite size pieces (or stew meat) 1 tablespoon cooking oil 4 potatoes, cut up into bite size pieces 4 carrots, cut up in pieces 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup 1/2 cup beef broth 1 envelope regular onion soup mix 1/2 teaspoon marjoram or thyme
Brown meat in cooking oil in a skillet.
Place meat and vegetables in crockpot. Pour (undiluted) soup and spices and dry soup over it.
Cover and cook on LOW for 8-10 hours or on HIGH for 4-5 hours.
