Here are two recipes I hope you enjoy. I used to use them when we had a cherry tree on our farm in Iowa. I would pit the cherries and freeze them in Cool Whip containers and found that to work out very well. Here's the recipes:
Homemade Cherry Pie Filling
4 c. cherries (fresh or frozen)
3-4 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp almond extract
red food coloring
