Hi,
A classic combo in my family is pork chops and applesauce. Here is an easy, fresh recipe:

Chunky Shaker Applesauce
-----------------

8 apples (a combination of McIntosh, Golden and Red Delicious, and Granny Smith is good)
1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 cup apple cider
1/2 cup sugar (or less depending on your tastes)
1 tsp finely grated lemon peel
1- 1 inch long cinnamon stick

Core, peel and cut apples into large chunks, tossing with lemon juice to avoid discoloration. Place apples and all remaining ingredients into a large, heavy pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer, cover partially and cook until the apples are very tender, about 15 minutes. Uncover and cook 5 minutes more. Remove from heat and discard the cinnamon stick. Serve immediately or at room temperature. Can be refrigerated up to 5 days.
