Hi Kath, Your family beans sound great...we always fix them without meat, but my sister-in law made them a few weeks ago with ground beef, (also with a little this and a little that), and my husband loved them...(we are a family fond of beans!), I am definitely going to make those and WOW everyone at the next family dinner (which will be my mother-in-law's 75th birthday in August..) Thanks so much.... P.S. when I was growing up...way back in the '50's----my mom would sometimes fix canned pork n beans with poached eggs on top....yum....that was a "meal" that my sister, brother and I loved, just with loaf bread...Now, my husband of 32 years asks for it or "gets a taste for it" once in a while --- like me!!!
