Sorry this is a day late, Pearl. Maybe you can use it next year. As a leader with Girl Guides of Canada, we often made this variation at camp. It was always a big hit with the girls.

Bake a cake using whatever method you prefer, homemade or cake mix, baked in a 9x13 pan or bundt pan. Remove from pan and frost on all sides with chocolate icing. Poke holes (pencil size or slightly larger) and push 1" or so of long gummy worms into holes. Use at least as many worms as you have guests so each person gets a worm. Sprinkle all with Oreo cookie crumbs (I buy them this way instead of separating and crushing the cookies). Put 1/2 cup coconut into a plastic bag, add 3 or 4 drops of green food color and shake until coconut is a nice grassy shade adding more color if needed, then let coconut dry and sprinkle over the "dirt" made from the cookie crumbs to make grass.

This is cute and appeals to kids of any ages.
