limoncello is an italian lemon liqueur, sweet, tart, and pretty potent. it is made commercially, but every march we like to make our own from fresh lemon peel, overproof vodka (such as absolut), and sugar. it needs to sit in a dark place for 3 months. it gives us something summery to look forward to during the cold wisconsin winters :)! you serve it ice cold from the freezer, either straight up, over cracked ice, or in bubble water. really refreshing! |
