EGGLESS SUGAR COOKIES
2 c. shortening or butter 2 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. sour milk 2 tsp. soda 2 Tbsp. hot water 1/4 tsp. salt 3 tsp. vanilla or other flavor 8 c. flour
Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Slowly add sour milk (sour it by adding 1 tablespoon vinegar to sweet milk). Dissolve soda in water and add with salt to milk mix.
Add flour, a few cups at a time until a stiff cookie dough forms. Divide dough into thirds. Roll each into a ball. Roll out on floured board to 1/4-inch thick. Cut with a 4 to 6-inch cutter or a can. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheets at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Frost or decorate your favorite way.
EGGLESS SUGAR COOKIES
1 1/2 c. sugar 1 1/2 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. soda 3/4 c. butter 4 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1 to 2 tsp. vanilla
Mix all ingredients and roll into a long roll. Freeze cookie roll and slice. Bake in 375 degrees oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
EGGLESS SUGAR COOKIES
1 c. sugar 1/2 c. shortening or butter 2/3 c. sour milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. soda 3 c. flour
Cream sugar and shortening. Add sour milk and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Roll out on floured surface. Cut and bake on baking sheet at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. (Soft cookie.)
