Pound Cake (Plain) Oven 325 degees F
2 cups All-purpose Flour 5 Large Eggs 1 2/3 cups Sugar 1/2 pound (2 sticks) Butter or Margarine 1 teaspoon Almond Extract 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour a large Bundt Pan or 2 9x5 loaf pans. Cream butter and sugar unitl light and fluffy. Add eggs and flou alternating between additions. Add flavorings and just mix to blend. Pour batter in pan(s) and bake for55-60 minutes. Cool cake(s) in pan(s) for 10 minutes before turning them out.
This recipie makes a basic Pound Cake that's a great base for Strawberry Shortcake, or other dessert. It is also great just spread with a little butter.
