I freeze tomato paste a lot of time when I don't need the full amount of the can. I take a cookie sheet pan and spoon the tomato paste on by tablespoon fulls and freeze it. After it is frozen I then remove it from the pan and place it in a ziplock bag and place it back in the freezer for later use.
