ISO: Tuna salad

Hi Julia - I, too, hate the watery tuna salad. I do everything that Val does, but the ingredients are different. Drain the tuna and mash it fine with a fork. Dice a small dill pickle, and add some fresh parsley, and dash or two of dill weed, and a generous dash or two of celery seed. I also like a little bit of very finely grated onion - optional. Then some pepper, and enough mayo to hold things together. Salt if you need it to taste after adding the mayo.

DH & I love tuna salad on the beach or boat, but hate the soggy bread thing - so I make the sandwiches up ahead with butter/lettuce leaf, and put the prepared tuna in a tupperware container, and throw in a plastic spoon - then I "make" the sandwich right before eating. Tastes freshly made.

Enjoy!
