I'm not from the south but my parents both were raised in the south. So this must count for something. My Mother who just pass on made her iced tea like this. She took about two cups water and 4 tea bags and brought it just to almost a boil and turned it down and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes. She then placed that into a pitcher and added 1 to 1 1/2 cups sugar then stirred till the sugar was desolved and added cold water to fill the 2 qt., then poured this over ice. We had Ice tea every meal.
