Here are a couple of recipes I like
LAZE WOMAN'S SWEET PICKLES
1 qt whole sour pickles
3 cups sugar
1 clove garlic
1/2 t ground cloves

Pour off liquid from pickles and discard. Slice pickles in 1/4 inch slices and put into large mixing bowl. Add sugar and garlic which has been chopped finely. Add spice; mix and leave at room temperature until sugar is dissolved. Put all back into jar. Refrigerate. After 3 days they are ready to eat.

This next recipe is an old family recipe, goes back a long way. It has a little different taste than the first one.
1 qt. dill pickles (not Kosher)
2 c sugar
1 c red cider vinegar
1 T whole mixed pickling spices (put in cheescloth)
Drain pickles (can rinse if you like) and slice as thick as you like.
Heat vinegar, sugar, & spices until they come to a boil. Pour over cold pickles in the jar. Put in refrigerator. Next day, drain liquid from pickles and boil again-pour over pickles and refrigerate.
Do this for 2 more days. On the third day remove pickling spices and pour liquid over pickles and refrigerate. Eat and enjoy.

Hope you like them.
