baked or microwaved toasted cheese

melt butter
brush one side of each piece of bread (usually they use a whole pullman loaf)
put bread under a salamander or broiler until brown. put a couple or three slices of american cheese between the untoasted side of two pieces of bread. Micro wave until cheese is melted. or put several on a sheet pan and warm until cheese is melted. hold on a steam table warmer.
