Dr. Pepper Marinated Steak
Ingredients:
2 flank steaks Dr. pepper soft drink Vegetable oil Spice rub (see below)
Directions:
Place each flank steak in a shallow, non reactive dish, pour enough Dr. Pepper over the flank steaks to cover, seal with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 24 hours. Remove the meat from the marinade, dry the entire surface & rub enough of the spice mixture over both sides of the meat. Lightly rub the meat with some oil & grill over high heat until desired doneness. Serves 6.
Spice rub
4 tbs. kosher salt 3 tbs. chili powder 2 tbs. dried garlic(not garlic salt) 2 tbs. brown sugar 2 tbs. granulated cumin 2 tbs. coarse ground pepper 1 tbs. ground thyme
Thoroughly mix the spices together & store in a glass jar. Makes 1 cup.
