EASY-MIX HOLIDAY CANDY FROM BETTY CROCKER

2 Tablespoons butter or margarine

1/4 cup milk (plus 2 teaspoons if making with chocolate fudge mix)

1 package Betty Crocker creamy frosting mix
(chocolate fudge, lemon, creamy cherry, creamy white or any of the other delicious flavors)

Heat butter in milk over low heat until butter melts and mixture JUST begins to simmer.
Remove from heat, stir in frosting mix (dry).

Heat over LOW heat, stirring constantly with rubber scraper until smooth and glossy; 1 to 2 minutes. DO NOT OVERCOOK!

MAKES: 1 POUND
SQUARES: Stir in 1/2 cup chopped nuts or red and green candied cherry halves. Pour into aluminum foil-lined loaf pan---9 x 5 x 3 inches. Press pecan halves on top if desired. Chill until firm.

WAFERS: Drop by teaspoonsful onto waxed paper. If necessary, reheat mixture slightly. Let stand until firm.

CLUSTERS: Prepare candy from lemon frosting mix, stir in 1 can (3 and 1/2 ounces)a flaked coconut and 1/2 cup slivered almonds. Drop by teaspoonsful onto waxed paper. Let stand until firm.
