Betty, Here is the one I have used for years. It could be different from the one you made but, nevertheless, it is really good:-)
Mexican Layer Dip
Using a 2 quart container: (I like to use a 9 inch, clear glass pie plate so you can see the layers.)
1 can Frito Lay Jalapeno Bean Dip 3 avocados mashed (Add 3 Tbl. freshly squeezed lemon juice
Mix: 3 Tbl. sour cream and 3 Tbl. mayonnaise with 1/2 package taco mix. Spread this over the bean dip and mashed avocados.
Next cover with 1 c. Monterey Jack cheese Top cheese with 4 chopped green onions. Top green onions with 3 tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped. Top tomatoes decoratively with 1 small can chopped black olives.
My recipe doesn't call for lettuce but you could use that before the tomatoes and skip the olives, or not, as you like. Enjoy:-)!!
