This is a recipe that I made for special days. It states that only the secure can cope with breakfast pies. I know I am behind on the breakfast recipes but I just found it.

Breakfast Sausage apple pie

1 package (one pound) pork sausage links
1 package (ii ounces) pie crust mix. I use Jiffy
1 can (one pound 4 ounces) apple pie filling
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded process American Cheese. We like sharp cheddar.
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cook sausage and drain.Mix 1/2 of the piecrust mix and prepare for single 9 inch pie pan. Flute, prick sides and bottom with fork and bake for 8 minutes. Reduce heat to 375 degrees. Pour pie filling in to partly baked crust. Arrange sausage in spoke fashion on filling. Sprinkle with grated cheese. For the top add the brown sugar to the remaining pie crust mix and sprinkle over top of pie. Return to oven and bake 25 to 35 minutes or until crust is brown. Serve warm. Makes 8 servings
