Easy Almond Cake
1 Yellow or Lemon Cake Mix 1 lb. almond paste grated 2 cups sugar 1/2 cup sliced almonds
Prepare cake mix according to package directions. In separate bowl mix together grated almond paste and sugar. Pour half the cake batter in a 13"x9" pan that has been greased. Put 1/2 to 2/3 of the almond mixture on top. Cover with remaining cake batter. Sprinkle with the rest of almond mixture and then top with sliced almonds. Bake cake at 350 degrees as package directs. This cake is so easy and deliciious.
I purchase 7 lbs. almond paste from Gordons and separate it into 1 lb. portions wrapping each in Saran wrap and then put it in a sealed platic container in the refrigerator. It will keep for a year.
