Found my long lost recipe in "Food that Really Schmecks" by Edna Staebler. I love Amish/Mennonite cooking. It is real comfort food! This pudding is very easy and really great!

CHOCOLATE DESSERT (I call it Amish Chocolate Pudding)

1 Tbs. (heaping) cocoa
3 Tbs. (heaping) flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. white sugar
a little cold water
2 c. boiling water
1 tsp. vanilla
Butter, the size of an egg

Blend the flour, cocoa, salt and sugar in the cold water. Add the boiling water and cook until thick - it takes a little over 10 minutes. After it is taken from the stove, add the butter and vanilla. Stir until smooth. Pour into a serving dish and chill. Serve with a mound of whipped cream on top and perhaps a few nuts, but don't keep on tasting (and diminishing) it before it reaches the table!
