Hi Vanessa!
First off, please thank your husband for his service to our great country! We are very grateful and appreciative of the sacrificethat he (and you) are making.
Here are three possibilities for you to try:
#1
French Vanilla Latte 1 serving
1 teaspoon Torani vanilla syrup 1/2 teaspoon Torani hazelnut syrup 1 shot espresso 1/2 cup 1% milk, steamed vanilla powder and or chocolate powder for sprinkling
Place syrups in cup. Add shot of espresso and stir. Steam and froth milk. Pour off the hot milk into the cup and then scoop off the foam onto the top. Sprinkle with powdered vanilla and or powdered chocolate.
#2
Caffe au Lait, or Caffe Latte
Most coffee drinkers forget it's easy to make it special, and the producers of instant flavored coffees would have you believe that there is some kind of trick to spicing coffee. In fact, most of the coffees which we consider "special" are daily beverages in their cultures of origin.
In addition to this variation, you can spike any coffee with cinnamon, cardamom, cocoa powder, vanilla, or any spice that suits your taste.
Method: If you have an electric espresso machine or milk steamer, steam a large quantity of milk and mix it, half-and-half (or whatever poportion you like) with fresh coffee. If you do not have an espresso machine, cook the milk in a small saucepan until tiny bubbles appear on its sides.

#3 I would try to warm your milk with the scrapings of a vanilla bean or add vanilla flavoring (last minute) to your milk, add coffee/espresso, sweetener and finish off.
Just experiment and save that $3.35 a day in a savings account for your new baby. That's $16.75 a week, $67 a month, or $804 a year in savings. Good luck!
