i'm a 50 y/o female from new orleans, south louisiana. i have fond memories devouring this spanish bar cake as a kid when my mother returned from the grocery store. it literally was on w/in 5-minutes. i asked another lady from philadelphia, mississippi and her face lit up like a x-mas tree. she said, "every sunday am after church". since then i have been on a mission to replicate this recipe.
