When I was growing up my grandmother used to always make the most wonderful Strawberry Shortcake. She used 3 yellow round baked cake layers, cool whip, sliced strawberries, and whole strawberries.
Bake & cool the 3 cakes. Remove 1st cake to serving platter & top with cool whip & aliced strawberries.* Top with 2nd cake and cover with cool whip and remaining slices strawberries. Top cake sides & top with cool whip. Place whole strawberries around outside of cake.
*She always sprinkled sugar on her sliced strawberries let them soak. |
