CHOCOLATE NUT TOPPERS1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup unsifted flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup quick oats, uncooked
1 (6 oz.) pkg. (1 cup) Nestle Semi-Sweet Real Chocolate Morsels
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In large bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, egg and vanilla extract; beat until creamy. Blend in flour and salt. Stir in oats. Spread into greased 9-inch square baking pan.
Bake at: 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.
Sprinkle Nestle Semi-Sweet Real Chocolate Morsels immediately over top of baked layer. Let stand about 1 minute or until morsels become shiny. Spread evenly over cookie base. Sprinkle with nuts. Cool about 30 minutes.
Cut into 1 1/2 inch squares.
Makes 2 dozen (1 1/2 inch) squares
