GRANDMA JO'S TWINKIE JELL-O DESSERT10 Twinkies
2 (3-ounce) packages orange Jell-O
1 cup boiling water
1 (20-ounce) can crushed pineapple in juice, drained
1 cup lemon-lime soda
1 quart vanilla ice cream, at room temperature
Arrange Twinkies in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a bowl, mix together the Jell-O and boiling water, stirring until dissolved. Stir in the pineapple and soda. Blend in the ice cream and beat until smooth with a whisk or an electric mixer on low speed.
Pour the Jell-O mixture over the Twinkies and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours, until set.
To serve, cut into squares and serve chilled.
