My family likes a lot of meat in their spaghetti sauce and this is my favorite recipe.
SPAGHETTI SAUCE
3 1/2 - 4 pounds ground round
1 medium onion, grated or finely chopped
1 green pepper, finely chopped
2 small cans (8 oz. each) Hunt's Tomato Sauce
2 small cans (6 oz. each) Hunt's Tomato Paste
1 envelope (1 1/2 oz.) Italian Style Spaghetti Sauce with Mushrooms
1 1/2 - 2 cups water (depends upon how thick you like sauce)
1/2 Tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1 clove of garlic, crushed (I usually use more - we like garlic!)
3 bay leaves
Brown meat in skillet. Drain off all fat. Place meat in boiler and add salt and pepper to taste. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours.
This recipes freezes well.
