I just posted this on the main board for Angela, but since it is one of my recent "tried and true" favorites (which I acquired on TKL, by the way) I wanted to share it here! This was originally posted by Lisa in NS on 1/22/98:

PORK CHOPS IN SAN FRANCISCO
SAUCE

4 1-inch thick pork chops (I prefer boneless)
1 clove garlic, minced
4 T. sherry, or can use chicken broth
4 T. soy sauce
2 T. brown sugar
2 tsp. oil
dash red pepper sauce, if desired
2 T. cold water
2 tsp. cornstarch

Brown chops in small amount of oil. Remove
from pan and add garlic. Cook just until soft.
Add pork chops. Make sauce from sherry, soy
sauce, brown sugar, oil and pepper sauce.
Pour over chops. Cover and let simmer for
about 30 minutes until chops are done. Remove
chops from pan. Combine cornstarch and
water and add to sauce. Cook until thickened.
Serve with noodles or rice.

I usually double the sauce, because that's my
favorite part!
