I'm just getting back to cooking smaller meals now that my kids are growing up.
So thanks for the reminders of what you used to do. Here's a couple I really like.I shop at a store called Aldi's {a low price warehouse, pack your own only items packed for Aldi} and I'll quote thier prices. If your daughter looks maybe there is a store like this near you.

1 can chicken noodle soup {.39}
1 can full of frozen broccolli stir fry vegetables {.99}
parmesan cheese {1.99 for 12 oz}

Heat soup like normal. Add vegetables and reheat to boil but don't cook too much you want vegetables to be crisp tender. Adjust seasoning and ladle into bowls. Serve sprinkled with cheese. Add fresh sliced bread. Yum.

Another one I use sometimes

1 can creamed corn {.29}
1/2 pkg hotdogs
1 pkg. jiffy corn bread mix {.25}

In 8" sq. baking pan layer first creamed corn, Cut up hotdogs,and lastly the cornbrean mix prepared according to package directions. Bake at 350 till corn bread is cooked. Serve with salad.
