1-2 cups lentils washed
onion-- chopped
2 cans chopped tomatoes
6-7 potatoes cut into cubes
ham bone with some meat on it
water to cover
put all ingredients into pot and cover with water, bring to boil. Lower heat and simmer until potatoes are soft and lentils are cooked ( I don't like them mushy)
remove meat from bone, discard bone and return meat to soup.
