Sarah and her fiance Tim took me out for Mother's Day lunch and then to the big
Merle Hay Mall in Des Moines. One gift shop had three "gramma" sales clerks,
who asked me if I was having a nice mother's day.

I said, "I got the nicest present of all. My daughter graduated from Iowa State
University yesterday."

All three clerks just about hugged us all. They told Sarah what a wonderful
gift to her mother that was. Asked her all about her major and her job
prospects. It was so nice.

The unemployment rate is so low here in Iowa that we are seeing retail clerks
and waitresses and cashiers out of the retiree ranks. They sure know how to do
it with style and customer service. God bless everyone in sensible shoes!!
