This recipe is one of my husband's favorite dishes.
CHICKEN AND RICE CASSEROLE
Bacon slices 1 cup uncooked rice (not instant) 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed cream of chicken soup 1 chicken, cut in pieces 2 cups hot water 1 tsp. oregano salt pepper dash of nutmeg
Brown bacon slices and place in 9x13-inch pan. Spread rice on bottom. Spread with soup.* Arrange chicken on top. Pour 2 cups hot water over. Add spices.
Bake covered at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake additional 15 minutes or until rice is tender and chicken is done.
*I mix the hot water with the soup and just pour it over the rice and then arrange my chicken pieces on top. |
