I live in a small German town a few miles from the Mississippi River. I don't know that I really have any snack recipes, but several dessert recipes that may work. Here's a favorite:
BLECH KUCHEN (APFEL KUCHEN)
3 1/2 c. flour
1 1/3 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
2 eggs
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
Work together BY HAND into a dough.

Grease cookie sheet. Press dough into pan firmly, making edges on the sides.

Slice apples (I use Golden Delicious), usually 5-6 good sized apples and spread evenly on dough.

Make a crumb topping (I always guess at amounts) to equal 3/4 c. (butter, cinnamon, sugar, flour NO oatmeal)
Bake at 350 degrees until browned slightly. Cool and sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.

If you don't use it for this, it is still a wonderful recipe. You'll like it.
