BOILED SHANK HAM WITH BEER

This is an old recipe passed on from Mothers to Daughters.

Any size shank ham you feel will feed your people.
A big enough pot to contain it.

With the ham in the pot, half-fill it with water. Add a (12 oz) bottle of beer.

Cover and bring to a boil on stove-top, then, simmer 20 minutes a pound until done.

The results are melt-in-your mouth sweet ham and you can cut it with your fork.

Great with scalloped potatoes.
