Dom Econ Cake
This is my grandmother's recipe.

Combine:
4 Tbsp. cocoa
1/4 cup shortening

Over this pour:
1/2 cup Boiling water

Cool slightly and stir in:
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour

Add:
3/4 tsp. baking soda mixed in
1/4 cup sour milk (1 tsp. vinegar in sweet milk)

Stir in:
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla

Grease and flour 9x9-inch pan or loaf pan.
Bake in 350 oven for 40 minutes.
